Located in Alton's historic Mineral Springs Hotel is the new Curiosity Museum. See everything from Victorian Vampire Killing Kits to the just plain weird.
Illusions, ghost hunting kits, Victorian Vampire Killing Kits and more are featured at the new American Oddities Museum based in Alton's historic Mineral Springs Hotel. From robots that watch you wander through the displays to the curious world of quack medicine, there is a bit of everything in this 1,500-foot museum dedicated to the just plain weird. Included in the museum is the Historic Museum of Torture Devices which showcases displays of torture devices from around the world. Pictures and written explanations are part of the self-guided tour.
Admission is $6 per person. Hours of Operation: Saturday-Sunday: Noon to 4:00 p.m.
