A city-wide Historical Cairo showcase. Tour several Cairo churches and private homes and, of course, the architectural jewels of the city: Cairo Public Library, the Cairo Custom House, Ward Chapel AME Church, and Magnolia Manor.
Join us for a free guided tour of historical Cairo we are calling our "Hometown Showcase!" Several city churches and private homes are partnering with us this year to show off some of the best of Cairo's history. Our friends at Shawnee Mass Transit are providing complimentary bus service again this year.
While the tour is free, registration is highly recommended at the link below in order to properly plan for our event. The guided tour will load beginning at 9:30 am in the parking lot of Southern Bank at 800 Washington in downtown Cairo. If you prefer, you can take your own vehicle and follow behind the bus.
All churches will be open to the public from 10:00 to 12:00, but you must be part of the guided tour in order to view the interior of the private homes.
