Civil rights activist Ida B. Wells, poet Gwendolyn Brooks, and astronaut Robert H. Lawrence Jr. are among over 100 notable neighborhood residents honored for their lasting impact and inspiring legacies.
Its honorees have made extraordinary contributions to the African American community and revival those of the Harlem Renaissance. Ninety-one bronze plaques on medians, sidewalks, and crosswalks stretch ten blocks. Monument to the Great Northern Migration" at 26th Pl. and “Victory Monument” at 35th St. frame the permanent outdoor exhibit.
