McLeod Theater- Urinetown the Musical
Looks like this event has already taken place.
Thu, Apr 24 – Sun, Apr 27, 2025
1100 Lincoln Dr, Carbondale, IL 62901
The SIU School of Theater and Dance and The School of Music are presenting Urinetown the Musical.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! Winner of three Tony Awards, Urinetown is a side-splitting musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of resources, bureaucracy, and musical theatre itself!
